Syracuse University has 10 Full Rides for African American Men and Women Interested in Studying Architecture

Mark Robbins, Dean of Syracuse University's School of Architecture is desperately seeking young men and women of color interested in pursuing a five year professional degree in Architecture. He says he's deeply committed to bringing diversity to his field and has scholarship money set aside to fully cover education costs for 10 students. He says that Hispanic enrollment in the school has increased substantially, but it's been harder to attract Blacks.

Syracuse University 's School of Architecture has a great reputation and this seems like a terrific opportunity, so please pass this on to everyone you know.

Giving minority students a chance to explore business and accounting

The Accounting Careers Awareness Program (ACAP-Ohio) is sponsored by The
Ohio Society of CPAs and the Ohio chapters of the National Association
of Black Accountants. This week-long summer enrichment program has two
simple goals:
1.        To encourage minority high school students to acquire the
educational background they need to major in accounting or business in
college.
2.        To promote the awareness of careers in business, accounting
and as a CPA through the participation adn volunteer time of minority
role models.

The innovative program, held at The Ohio State University Fisher College
of Business, lets students explore the accounting profession and learn
first-hand what opportunities await them if they choose to become a CPA
or enter the business world after college.

Students who participate in ACAP-Ohio gain real-world experiences during
informative workshops, interactive discussions, facility tours and
one-on-one mentoring sessions with minority accounting and business
professionals. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to
compete for college scholarships.

"For these students to give up a week in their summer is something we
thank them for," said J. Clarke Price, CAE, president and CEO of The
Ohio Society of CPAs. "The Ohio Society wants them to come away from
this experience knowing what opportunities exist for them if they enter
the accounting profession."

ACAP-Ohio is a fully supervised, all-expense-paid program made possible
through the support of corporate sponsorships and grants. Students
interested in applying must submit an application, a 200-word essay and
one letter of reference.  Students can APPLY AT FUTURECPA.COM.
